FAQ
Is the pilot tier really free?
Yes — up to 10 units, forever, production use OK. We make money when you grow.
Why no per-user pricing?
Per-user pricing punishes adoption. Bring every property manager, accountant, and guard onto the platform — that's the whole point.
Is the gate / ANPR really included on Community?
Yes. Smart access, visitor management, and ANPR are included at the per-unit price. Hardware is BYO — we don't sell or mark up cameras.
What cameras work?
HikVision and Dahua with built-in ANPR, Genetec AutoVu, Plate Recognizer (cloud or on-prem), and any RTSP-output camera with a server-side recognizer. Wiegand and OSDP gate controllers supported.
Can I migrate from Buildium / AppFolio / Yardi?
Yes. Migration from Buildium, AppFolio, Yardi Breeze, DoorLoop, and Rent Manager is included on Community and Enterprise. Allow 2–4 weeks for a clean cutover.
What about ALPR retention laws?
DwellPort enforces per-state retention windows (CA, NH, ME, VT have specific rules). Default retention is 60 days; configurable per property. You stay compliant by default.
